Did not attend - 'DNA'

On average, 200 booked appointments are wasted each month because patients do not attend.

If you miss 3 or more appointments in a given period, we will notify you that further missed appointments will result in your removal from our list and you having to find another GP.

We have introduced an SMS Text Reminder service to remind patients of their appointments.

We will be sending text confirmation and reminder messages to patients who have an appointment at the surgery with a doctor or nurse. If you do not wish to receive text messages from the surgery please let reception know. If you are happy for us to send you text messages please let us have your correct mobile telephone number.

If you cannot attend an appointment please telephone our reception team on 01865 761651 to cancel the appointment so someone else can use it.

Barton Surgery (Bury Knowle's branch Surgery)

Barton Surgery is based in the Neighbourhood Centre, Underhill Circus. Residents living in Barton, Sandhills and the surrounding area are welcome to register. Once registered patients can also access more specialist services provided at the main site, Bury Knowle Health Centre (01865 761651). These services include ECGs, minor surgery, physiotherapy, coil fitting, counselling and extended hours, to name but a few.

Barton Surgery has recently undergone refurbishment. This is an exciting time of change and improvement for both patients and staff.  A doctor is available on a Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning & afternoon and Friday morning.  A nurse is available on a Monday and Wednesday morning.  Consultations are by appointment only.

The Barton team consists of Dr Melissa Holden, Dr Enas Al-Dabagh, Dr Andrew Collins, Sister Gina Williams, Health Care Assistant Hannah Warland and receptionist Gilly Cox. 

In future we will look to expand the services offered at the Barton Surgery. For example, we are hoping to hold some teenage health drop in clinics over the next few months.
