Education & Development

As a practice, we are very interested in education and development. To offer an excellent service to you, it is important that all of us keep up to date. Every practice member has regular training, and the doctors are involved in research and learning.

Training Practice

We are accredited as a training practice, a marker of a high quality practice. This allow GP Registrars come to us for their final year of training to become registered as GPs. Registrars are fully qualified doctors who have been gaining experience in hospital medicine and we value the opportunity of helping to develop the family doctors of the future. Our trainers are Dr Justin Amery, Dr Louise Rutter and Dr Tamsin Griffith. We train F2 doctors, also fully qualified, who may then return to hospital medicine as specialists - this is part of a new programme to give all young doctors experience of medicine in the community setting. We also teach Oxford University medical students and they may occasionally sit in during consultations – we always ask your permission before allowing them to see you, so if you would rather see the doctor alone, please feel free to decline. Additionally, our doctors occasionally video their consultations for learning purposes. If you object to your consultation being recorded

The Future

We are living in exciting times, and things are changing rapidly in the world of general Practice. The Patient Services, Administration, Nursing and Doctor teams have all expanded, as have our telephone and computer systems. We continue to work closely with the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust to ensure that appropriate high quality services are available to our Patients.
